Janet Patricia Crow, 82, of North Liberty, passed away from a sudden stroke on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. A Gathering time will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
Janet was born on April 11, 1940, in West Lebanon, N.H., the daughter of Edward William and Geneva (Penney) Potwin. She graduated with honors from Burdett Business College in Boston. Janet was married to Robert Crow of Muscatine, Iowa, on Sept. 12, 1964, in Our Lady of the Snows Church in Woodstock, Vt. She served as the registrar for the University of Iowa College of Dentistry for over 38 years, retiring in 2007.
Janet loved to sing and was a member of “Sweet Adelines” of Iowa City who won the International Competition in Omaha and were chosen to represent the United States in a concert tour of Paris, France, in 1989. She enjoyed reading, loved gardening and golf in the Women’s League for many years.
Janet is survived by her husband, Bob; three children, Linda (Jeff) Showalter of Riverside, Steve Crow of Iowa City and Brian (Heather Louck) Crow of North Liberty, and children, Sam and Grace Crow; and five siblings, Anita (Jim) Brennan, Mary Carlson, Kathy Douglas, Maureen (George) Noonan and Tom (Diane) Potwin.
