Janet Mary Patschke, 80, passed away at the Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, surrounded by her loving family
Per Janet’s wishes, she has chosen cremation. A memorial visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Marion Christian Church on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m. with the Pastor Bryce Bowers officiating.
Janet was born on Aug. 1, 1942, in Manchester, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Carmen (Miller) LeClere. On Oct. 9, 1993, she married Donald Patschke. She was a 35-plus year employee of the United States Social Security Administration and volunteered her services to the flood of Grand Forks in 1997 and Hurricane Katrina in 2005. She was a golfer, quilter, avid reader, and loved to cook. She was a lifelong member of the Marion Christian Church.
Those left to cherish Janet’s memory are her husband, Don of Marion, Iowa; her children, Dan (Cecile) LeBlanc of Flagstaff, Ariz., Chris LeBlanc, of Phoenix, Ariz., Jeff (Becky) Patschke of Seminole, Okla., and Nicole (Jeff) Johnson, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her grandson, Peter J. LeBlanc, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and her brother, Leo (Kim) LeClere, of Bernard, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Marion Christian Church.
