Janet M. Olivier, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, at
the Oldorf Hospice House of
Mercy, Hiawatha. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Visitation
from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Everyone attending is required to wear a face mask and maintain social distancing. During the visitation, a limited number of people will be allowed in the funeral home. You may have to wait outside. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Phillip; children, Teresa Bear, Denise (Raymond) Kirkwood, Phyllis (Stephen) Johnson and Jason (Shannon) Olivier; brother, Dick (Nadine) Sojka; grandchildren, Randy, Alex, Samantha, Kendra, David, Jill, Aunika, Aquira, Lilliahna and Noah; great-grandchildren, William, Brayden, Charlotte, Benson and Anderson; and nieces and nephews.
Janet was born on Jan. 22, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Alexander and Mary (Lekin) Sojka. On March 23, 1963, she married Phillip K. Olivier at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Janet and Phil were longtime owners of Stewart Funeral Home and Baxter Funeral Chapel. She enjoyed baking and doing crafts, especially crocheting. Janet loved to spend time with her family and watching cooking shows on Food Network.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patty Sojka; and son-in-law, Delmar "Butch" Bear Jr.
