JANET CHRISTINE (HENDERSON) DOOGAN HATHAWAY

Janet passed away Oct. 18, 2016, surrounded by her family at her home in Tucson, Ariz. There will be no services.
Janet was born Aug. 4, 1944, in Norfolk, Va., to John and Arline (Starry) Henderson.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy and David Doogan, and her daughter, Christine Boyer of Arizona. She also is survived by four grandchildren, Kincaid Doogan, Christina (Morgan) Stewart, Virginia Boyer and Shane Boyer; a great-granddaughter, Aria Stewart; two sisters, Mary Price of
Cedar Rapids and Joan (Jim) Vaughan of Phoenix; a brother, Bill (Carolyn) Henderson of Phoenix; and many nieces and nephews.
Janet and her family moved often when her father had to go for work. They returned to Iowa in 1954 and lived in the Coggon and Prairieburg area. Janet graduated from Central City High in 1962. She then moved with her parents to Phoenix. She worked in Phoenix and then in 1964, joined the Army, where she met Timothy Doogan Sr., and raised their children in Charleston, S.C. They later divorced and she returned to Phoenix to work at the VA Hospital. She then transferred to Tucson and retired from the VA Hospital as head housekeeper. She met her second husband, Charles Hathaway, at the hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and one niece.
