Jane Marie Stirler, 71, of Cedar Rapids, originally from Reinbeck, passed away on January 13, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
A visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, 10:30 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Reinbeck with burial at the Reinbeck Cemetery.
Jane was born on November 20, 1953, and was the third daughter of Wally and Nadine Stirler. She grew up in Reinbeck and graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1972. She attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated in 1976. She worked at various businesses including the Cedar Rapids Schools, education department at Oakdale Prison, MCI, CBE in Waterloo, Kohls, Bright Star, and the Gladbrook – Reinbeck School as the At-Risk Coordinator. She also coached volleyball and basketball at the junior high level in Cedar Rapids and Gladbrook – Reinbeck.
She, her parents and two sisters took many trips to the west coast to see relatives. They attended the Rose Bowl game when the Iowa Hawkeyes played. She enjoyed going to UNI football games and many athletic events at Gladbrook – Reinbeck. She and her two sisters also attended the Summer Olympics.
Jane is survived by her sister Karen Stirler of Cedar Rapids and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kandy, grandparents, and aunts and uncles.
