Jane Elizabeth (Paa) Griffith, 71, of Elkader, passed away suddenly at her home on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017.
Jane was born to Joseph J. Paa and Catherine Leola (Murphy) Paa in Sioux Falls, S.D., on March 23, 1945. She graduated from O'Gorman High School in Sioux Falls and South Dakota State University.
Jane married Robert Griffith on Sept. 2, 1967. They had three children: Mary (Tim) Kelley, Joseph (Chasity) Griffith and Katherine (Reid) Koehn.
Throughout her life she enjoyed being active in St. Joseph's Catholic Church and many community organizations in Elkader. Once she became a grandmother, she loved sharing time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; children, Mary, Joseph and Katherine; grandchildren, Austin, Alexa, Aidan and Andrew Kelley, Katelynn, Lauren, Regan and Ryan Griffith, and Rose and Tristen Koehn; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leola and Joseph Paa; and her brother and sister-in-law, James and Kay Paa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Jane's favorite organizations in the Elkader area.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Elkader. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home and after 10 a.m. at the church on Wednesday. Inurnment: East Side Cemetery, Elkader.
Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
