Jana Sue Goettsch, 59, of Lowden, died Friday, July 25, 2014, at Wheatland Manor in Wheatland. Funeral
services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, at Christian Free Lutheran Church, Wheatland, by Pastor Eric Swenson. Burial: Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at the church.
Born June 1, 1955, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Robert R. and Dolores (Shelton) Stankee, she married Jeff Goettsch on Nov. 25, 1989, in Wheatland.
Jana truly loved Jesus.
She also liked going to the Ozarks and being by the water, biking, camping, Bible study and Dominoes. As Jana would say, "you don't have to be nice in Dominoes."
Survivors include her husband, Jeff; daughters, Brooke (Lee) Duncan of McCall, Idaho, and Lynn (Marlon) Vander Heiden of New Liberty; stepchildren, Nicole Goettsch of Davenport and Courtney (Amer) Brankovic of Bettendorf; six grandchildren, Jack, Sarah and Marie Duncan and Lane, Lily and Luke VanderHeiden; three stepgrandchildren, Noah Musal, Madison Wuorinen and Nile Brankovic; mother, Dolores Stankee of Lowden; and brother, Robert (Jacque) Stankee of Camdenton, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her father.
