Jan Strobbe, 80, of Coralville, died Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at the Lantern Park Specialty Care Center in Coralville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2021, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford, with burial to follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery near Oxford. Visitation will be held from 2 to
4 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Church in Oxford, and one hour prior to services on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her memory to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center c/o University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City or St. Mary's Catholic Church of Oxford. Mary Janice Stockman was born May 10, 1940, in Iowa City, the daughter of Robert and Rita McDonough Stockman. Growing up in Oxford, she attended schools there and graduated from Oxford High School. On Dec. 28, 1965, she married Raymond Strobbe at St. Mary's Church in Oxford. She enjoyed working at Oxford Veterinary Clinic, and at banks in Coralville and Savanna, Ill. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes basketball fan, both men and women, and cherished her friends, often talking with them daily on the phone.
Her family includes her husband, Raymond; their daughter, Karen Davison (Trevor); grandchildren, Finn and Liam; sister, Carol Tomash (Leo); brothers, Michael Stockman (Debra) and Joseph Stockman (Rebecca); and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Bradley; and sister, Joan Lindberg.
