Jamy Schmidt, 42, of Marion, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, from an accidental electrocution at his home. The family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion. Funeral Mass will follow
at 10:30 a.m. at the church conducted by Father David O'Connor. Private family burial will take place at Springville Cemetery. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Jamy is survived by his father, John (Teresa) Schmidt of Marion; mother, Diane (Kevin) Swan of Louisberg, Kan.; his children, Illyana, Alexander, Jonathan, Brendon and Kaden; sister, Meredith (Brian) Cain; and brother, Chad Swan. Also surviving are many loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Marcella Schmidt and LeRoy and Alma Gilbert; and brother, Cory.
Jamy was born April 13, 1975, in Cedar Rapids, the son of John and Diane (Gilbert) Schmidt. He was employed at Apache in Cedar Rapids.
