James W. Greene, 72, passed away peacefully at home December 26, 2024. A visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, December 29 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel Stateroom. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 30 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A private burial will be held later.
Jim was born on July 30, 1952, in Cedar Rapids to Robert and Gwendoline Greene. He retired from the City of Marion in 2012 and was currently working as a custodian for Linn-Mar School District.
Jim is survived by his wife, Tiffany; children, Erin (fiancé Bruce) Shoop and Jason (Cortney) Greene; grandchildren, Alex (Joe) Schmidt, Alyssa (Kelly) Baker, Allen Novak, Kylee Shoop, Kasen Shoop; great grandchildren, Brayden, Brecken, Lainey and Kennedy; siblings, Robert (Tricia) Greene, Dan, Mike (Linda) Greene; sister-in-law, Tia (Jeff); many nieces and nephews; and best friend, Flurry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ann Greene; nephew, Thomas; great nephew, Nicholas, and in-laws, DeWayne and Mary Dlouhy.
