James W. Taylor Jr., 72, passed away July 17, 2017, in Newton, Ala.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Maxine and Willard Taylor; two sisters, Sheryl Tierney and Judy Brookins; and a brother, David Taylor.
Surviving are one son, James (Tracy) Deets; two grandchildren, Christina and Matthew Deets; a close cousin and friend, Patty (Ken) Tichy; and 10 nieces and nephews.
Born in Compton, Calif., he lived most of his young life in Ottumwa, Iowa, graduating from Ottumwa High School in 1962. He then lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, California and Georgia. He recently retired to Alabama. His love of family and music will be remembered by many.
Funeral services are pending at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa.
