James Warren Scott, 86, of Van Buren, Ark., formerly of Anamosa and Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016, in a local hospital.
He worked for Alliant Energy Co. in Iowa for 34 years and Central Iowa Light and Power Co. for 10 years.
He was a graduate of Van Buren High School, Class of 1947. In 1998, he moved back to Van Buren. He was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Gladys (Hammock) Scott; the mother of his children, Zenobia Scott; five sisters; and five brothers.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren, with burial of cremains at Gracelawn Cemetery after the service. The family will visit with relatives and friends one hour before the service.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Eileen Scott, of the home; one daughter, Laura Mae Scott of Van Buren; one son, Richard Scott and wife Carmelita of Marion; a brother, Jackie Dean Scott and wife Marilyn of Van Buren; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
