James Andrew "Jim" Schmitt, of Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Dyersville and Farley, Iowa, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at his home in Dubuque.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley.
He was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Michael and Lucille (Reisdorf) Schmitt. He married Ann Marie Sullivan on Sept. 5, 1952, and shared 62 years with her. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2014.
Surviving are four children, Susan (Stephen) Lambert of Marion, Iowa, Jay (Linda) Schmitt of Manchester, Iowa, Linda (Dennis) Moen of Platteville, Wis., and David (Barbara) Schmitt of Dyersville, Iowa; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
