JAMES "BUZ" WILLIAM ROBERTSON

James "Buz" William Robertson, 79, of Springville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, surrounded by
family at Linn Manor Care Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Springville United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Monday at
the church, conducted by Pastor Sue Ellen Scherman.
A private family committal service will take place at Springville Cemetery in Springville at a later date.
Buz was born Sept. 29, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of James and Violet (Wilson) Robertson. He was a graduate of Marion High School. While attending school, he worked at Armar Ballroom. On Sept. 3, 1961, in Springville, Buz was united in marriage to Mary Lina Latta. He was a lifelong dairy farmer and also drove a bus for Linn-Mar schools. Buz was a 4-H and FFA member and then 4-H leader. He was a member of the Springville school board, Springville Sports Booster Club and the Linn County Dairy Promotion Committee. He enjoyed farming, dancing at Armar and Prairie Moon ballrooms, playing cards, talking about his '57 Chevy, and attending his children and grandchildren's activities.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Robertson of Springville; daughter, Kim (Tom) Donaldson of Springville; son, Tim (Heather) Robertson of Anamosa; daughter, Lisa Robertson of Springville; sister-in-law, Lorraine Gray of Anamosa; brothers-in-law, Robert (Charlotte) Latta of Cedar Rapids and Morris Grabau of Marion; grandchildren, Jared (Jehri) Donaldson, Jamie Donaldson, Nicole Robertson, Carly Robertson, Jesse Robertson, Lexi McKinney and AJ Robertson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Buz was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Jean Grabau; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Vera (Vernon) Latta; and brother-in-law, David Gray.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Buz's memory may be directed to the family to be designated later for various local organizations in the Springville area.
