James Ray Simmons, 76,
of Marengo, passed away Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, at Rose Haven Nursing Home. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be sent to Carole Simmons, c/o Kloster Funeral Home, 298 W. Washington St., Marengo, IA 52301.
Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
James is survived by his wife Carole of 56 years; two sons, Deron Simmons of Huntersville, N.C., and Justin (Nicole) Simmons of Marengo; four grandchildren, Greta, Maisie, Henry and Logan; two brothers, Robert (Ava) Simmons of Marengo and William (Pam) Simmons of Marengo; two sisters, Mary (Nick) Roggentien of Marengo and Joe (Joan) Seye of Marengo; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillian (Furlong) Simmons; a brother, Ron; and his grandparents, Lloyd and Lola Simmons.
