James Patrick Johnson, 58, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, at Del-Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas, from complications of pneumonia. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Elks Club in Cedar Rapids. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Jim is survived by his mother, Therese (Clair Rausch) Johnson of Iowa City; brothers, Bob (Jennifer Dedek) Johnson of Chicago, Ill., and Tom (Faith) Johnson of Aurora, Colo.; sister, Julia Johnson of Franktown, Colo.; nieces, Britni Johnson of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Erika Johnson of Arlington, Va.; nephew, Graham Johnson of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Johnson, in 1993.
Jim was born on March 17, 1959, in Iowa City, the son of Roger Johnson and Therese Ockenfels Johnson. After graduating in 1977 from Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids, he served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1980. Jim always was involved in the transportation and trucking industry all across the United States.
