James Ocheltree
JAMES EDWARD OCHELTREE
Dysart
James Edward Ocheltree was born April 15, 1949, in Dysart, Iowa, the son of Duane "Eddie" and Kathryn (Pippert) Ocheltree. On March 20, 1982, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Wulf in Long Grove, Iowa. Jim worked for Elliott Brothers Truck Line Inc., first as a truck driver earning his way up to the position of president of the company, which he held until his death. Iowa Hawkeye football was the one thing that could entice Jim away from the home he loved. Only his beloved family and grandchildren outranked the Iowa Hawkeyes!
Jim passed away at the age of 67 years at home on Sunday, June 26, 2016, following a battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gloria Albert.
Jim is survived by his wife of 34 years, Bonnie; two sons, Dan (Lindsey) Ocheltree of Dysart and Tom (Laura Kaminsky) Ocheltree of Chicago; three grandchildren, Hayden, Kinnick and Hawk Ocheltree of Dysart; and a sister, Vicky (Larry) Holst of Vinton.
Visitation for Jim will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 30, at the church, with burial to follow at Dysart Cemetery. Overton Funeral Home of Dysart is assisting with services.
Memorials may be directed to Dysart Ambulance Service, Dysart Fire Department or the Dysart Tree Board. Condolences may be left at www.iowafuneralplanning.com.
