Jim was born on January 27, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Jim and Edna (Fitzsimmons) Nurre. A graduate of Kennedy High School in 1985, Jim worked as a union bricklayer, showcasing not only his craftsmanship but also his strong work ethic.
