James Nannemann
JAMES NANNEMANN Cedar Rapids James R. Nannemann, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2014. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Christopher Podhajsky. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include his wife, Betty; son, James T. Nannemann; daughters, Carolanne Nannemann, Ingrid Draper and Pattra Amos; sister, Catherine Watson; and many grandchildren. Jim was born June 13, 1943, in San Diego, Calif., the son of Cletus and Catherine Nannemann. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy on Seal Team 7 during the Vietnam War. Jim was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus, knighted on April 1, 1979. He owned and operated Nannemann Insurance for over 30 years, retiring in 2008. On Nov. 27, 2010, he married Betty Reed in Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Gloria. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
