JAMES A. MONEYPENNY
Hiawatha
James A. Moneypenny, 86, of Hiawatha, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at the Chapel of Memories at Cedar Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A luncheon will be held at the Family Center following the service.
James was born on Nov. 15, 1929, in Center Junction, to Alfred and Mary Agnes Moneypenny. He was united in marriage to Donna Rae Hoover on Aug. 10, 1953, in Robins. He owned and operated several businesses including car washes in the Cedar Rapids area. In his later years, his favorite hobby was sitting in his favorite recliner with his books.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Donna Rae of Hiawatha; their four children, Brenda (Rick) Waddell of Cedar Rapids, Evan (Sue) Moneypenny of Central City, Patricia (Neal) Kronebusch of Dover, Minn., and Kurt Moneypenny of Hiawatha; and several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
