JAMES SYLVESTER "JIMBO" MARX Springville James Sylvester "Jimbo" Marx, 77, of Springville, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Jimbo is survived by his children, Richard Marx, Jimmy (Tonnia) Marx, David Marx, Shelly (Terry) Achenbach, Randy Marx, JT (Tanya) Marx, Patrick Marx and Elizabeth (Barney) Miell; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Marx. He was preceded in death by both his parents; son, Jeff Marx; granddaughter, Rebecca; and brother, Ronnie Marx. Jimbo was born Jan. 23, 1940, in Prairie du Chien, Wis., the son of Hubert and Anna (Krachy) Marx. He was employed at Brad Ragen Tire for over 25 years. Jimbo was a member of American Legion Riders in Iowa and Arizona, FOE Eagles, VFW and Moose Lodge. He enjoyed being outside doing yardwork and participating in weekly shuffleboard tournaments.
