James E. Manson, 82, of Manchester, died Sunday, July 3, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 8, at Bohnenkamp Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be at Pine View Cemetery, Delaware, Iowa.
Jim is survived by his wife, Catherine
of Manchester; children, Jim Manson of Earlville, Dennis Manson of Palo, Edward Manson of Jackson, Fla., Janice Nelson of Grayslake, Ill., Julie Stewart of Dubuque and Nick Manson of Des Moines; stepson, Stephen Henderson of Hiawatha; daughter-in-law, Mona Schultz of Luana; siblings, William "Bill" (Joan) Manson, Vanita (Walter) Clendennen and Joyce (Carl) Hauschild, all of Manchester; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughters, Patricia Mefferd and Judith Henderson; brothers, LaVerne "Bud" Manson, Dean Manson, Gerald Manson, Hubert Manson and Ron Manson; and sisters, Aileen Satterlee, Norma Helmrich and Marge Arbegust.
Jim was born March 31, 1934, in Manchester, the son of William "Bill" and Ulla (Anderson) Manson. On April 4, 1970, James married Catherine Lorraine Sedgwick Henderson in Independence. He was a nationwide truck driver and worked for Redi Mix Concrete in Manchester for 30 years.
