James E. Lehmkuhl, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015, at his home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites provided by the Marines Corps League.
James Edward Lehmkuhl was born April 15, 1928, to Edward and Grace Jacobson Lehmkuhl in St. Olaf, Iowa. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids in 1946. James proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was united in marriage to Agnes Wise on Oct. 18, 1952, in Cedar Rapids. James worked as a lead in the shipping department at Lattner Manufacturing for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes; children, Marlys (Ed) Dailey, Thomas (Diane) Lehmkuhl, Paul (Michelle) Lehmkuhl and Carl Lehmkuhl, all of Cedar Rapids; sister, EJane (Paul) Jones of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
