James L. Pollock, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday March 2, 2022, in Cottage Grove Place. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Thursday March 10, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
James was born March 25, 1936, in Central City, Iowa, the son of Worley and Mary (Price) Pollock. He married Mary L. Rundall on May 10, 1958, in Marion, Iowa. James was a press operator for Longview Fiber in Cedar Rapids and was a member of the Marion American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing and Old Thresher's Reunion. He loved spending time with family and teasing people. James served in the Army during the Korean war. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his son, Marc Robert (Nikki) Pollock of Amana, Iowa; his daughter, Shelly Gardner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Michele Pollock of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his grandchildren, Mellody Pollock, Brent (Ivy) Gardner, Hailey Pollock and Starr (Luis) Oseguera; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary L. Pollock; son, Mike Pollock; son-in-law, Al Gardner; and his siblings.
