James L. Mansfield, 90, of Iowa City, and formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
James received his bachelor's of music from Cornell College and his master's and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and five children.
Per his request, no public services are planned. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for his family and arrangements at this time.
