James "Jim" Juehring, 73, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center. A visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private inurnment will take place in Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction.
Jim was born July 1, 1943, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Harold and Joyce (Mueller) Juehring. He was united in marriage to Jeanne Berner on Sept. 2, 1967, in Oxford Junction. Jim worked for most of his life in cost accounting for Iowa Manufacturing Co.
Jim and his wife, Jeanne, enjoyed attending the Cedar Rapids Kernels baseball games and Washington High School basketball and football games. They also loved dancing, especially to rock 'n' roll.
Jim was an extremely kind and humble man. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His family always will keep his memory in their hearts.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jeanne Juehring of Cedar Rapids; a son, Jason (Missy) Juehring of Adel; two grandchildren, Kate and Cruz of Adel; a sister, Pat (Ferdy) Burda of Oxford Junction; a brother, Dave (Anita) Juehring of Dyersville; a brother-in-law, Steve Koranda of Marco Island, Fla.; and loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother- and father-in-law, Mildred and Harry Berner; and sister-in-law, Judi Koranda.
Memorial donations in Jim's name may be directed to American Heart Association.
