James "Jim" Peter Lage, 82, of Decorah, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, at Reid Health Care Center, Richmond, Ind., surrounded by his family, having suffered a stroke while returning from the Iowan Veterans Honor Tour bus trip to Washington, D.C., which he was honored and privileged to take.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at Decorah Lutheran Church with the Rev. Randy Gehring officiating. A private family burial will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minn., with full military honors.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah, and on Monday beginning at 10 a.m., one hour before the service, at Decorah Lutheran Church.
Memorials are preferred to Allamakee County 4-H - Show Barn Building Fund, Winneshiek County Master Gardeners, Luren Singing Society or donor's choice.
