JAMES "JIM" DAVID LADAGE
Wichita, Kan.
James "Jim" David Ladage, 79, of Wichita Kan., passed away May 15, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center. Visitation for friends and family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 19. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 20. Both will be held at Cozine Life Events Center, 11500 E. 21st St. N, Wichita, Kan., with Pastor Daniel Tien officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Old Mission Cemetery, 3424 E. 24th Street N.
Jim was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the first born son of Robert and Mary (Turner) Ladage on April 8, 1943. He was a 1961 graduate of Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. Jim served in the U.S. Army and was assigned to the White House Communications Agency for two-and-a-half years. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and through the years owned a shop in Midway, Iowa, was part owner of Jesse James racing team, as well as a coal mining business. Jim worked as project manager for Goss International in Cedar Rapids for 17 years. Later relocating to China to work for Shanghai Goss Graphic Systems as vice president and general manager for 11 years. During that time, Jim traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia. He met Wang Fang "Lisa" and they married in Shanghai, 2001. Jim retired in 2008, returning to the United States in 2011 and settling in Wichita, Kan.
Jim enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, stock car racing and country music as well as many other interests over the years.
Jim is survived by his wife, Wang Fang "Lisa"; stepson, Chao Wang "Charlie," both of Wichita, Kan.; brother, Kenneth R. Ladage (Paula) of Marion, Iowa; sister, Nadine M. Ladage Garrett (Ron) of Fairfax, Iowa; a niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Frances Ladage; father, Robert James Ladage; and brothers, Mark Jon Ladage and Steven Dennis LaDage.
