James K. Beachler (Jim), 76 years old, of Robins, Iowa, died on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A funeral service, with military honors, will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00 AM.
Jim was born in Independence, Iowa on March 8, 1949, the son of Max A. And Wilma R. (Haines) Beachler. He grew up in Rowley, Iowa and graduated from Jefferson High School in Independence with the Class of 1967. After high school, Jim enlisted into the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. Jim married Jean Raymond on September 3, 1976. He worked at Quaker Oats for over thirty years before retiring in 2016. Jim's most cherished titles were those of Dad and Papa. His kids and grandchildren were the light of his life. At his happiest, Jim could be found coaching his kids’ sports, on the golf course with his group of friends at Twin Pines, showing off his 1972 Stingray Corvette at many car shows around town, playing cards with his buddies, and cheering on his grandkids in their youth sports. He was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Jim is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Jean; two daughters, Michelle (Scott) Burkhart of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Teresa Beachler of Marion, Iowa; one son, Troy (Sarah) Beachler of Chesterfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Megan, Alex, Austin, Jason, Makayla, Bristol, Eli, and Ian; three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Don Brunko; brother, William Beachler; twin sister, Judy (Alan) Kress; mother and father-in-law, Ruth and Dick Raymond; brother-in-law, Tom (June) Raymond, and sister-in-law, Jan (Steve) Allen.
His family would like to give a special thanks to those at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, located at 315 18th Avenue, Hiawatha, IA 52233.
