JAMES GRADE

James W. Grade, 65, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at his home Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Memorial services will be noon Saturday, May 9, at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Visitation for Jim will be two hours before the service at the chapel.
Jim was born March 28, 1950, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Wayne and Nellie Grade. The family moved to Cedar Rapids in 1957. He grad-uated from Jefferson High School in 1968, and worked numerous factory jobs throughout his life, with the most recent being Amana Refrigeration.
Survivors include his mother; son, Jesse (Lenae) Grade, and grandkids, Connor, Chase, Sydney and Saxton, of Ely; sister, Nancy (Bob) Russman of Swisher; brother, Ron (Patricia) Grade of Las Vegas; brother-in-law, Bob (Sue) Northrup of Cedar Rapids; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and pets, Maxmillion and Frankie.
He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Gina; nephew, Dustin; ex-wife, Pat; and his beloved pets, Heineken and Simon.
Jim had a great sense of humor and was an avid sports fan and especially loved watching the Hawkeyes and Packers.
He will be missed by all those who were close to him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
