JAMES EDWARD GREENE
Hanahan, S.C.
James Edward Greene, 86, of Hanahan, S.C., Bellevue, Wash., and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Jan. 4, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. and Celestine (Bader) Greene.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Greene; two daughters, Kimberly Greene of East Greenwich, R.I., and Shelby (Heath) Olinger of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; two sisters, Jean Dorweiler and Mary Watson; and four grandchildren, Cameron Greene, Mackenzie Greene, Jacob Olinger and Nathan Olinger.
Jim graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1952, one of 48 students. After graduation, he entered the U.S. Air Force and met some of his closest friends. After serving, he moved to Seattle, Wash., and met the love of his life – where it was love at first sight as he told the story.
As a child he developed a passion for building model cars and running model trains. He was able to share his interests with his four grandkids.
Jim will be honored in a mountain-top celebration of life on Jan. 18, 2021.
