James Joseph Driscoll Jr., 82, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2018,
at his home in Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at
Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with a service to follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
James was born Oct. 19, 1936, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of James and Agnes (Baker) Driscoll. He graduated from Springdale High School and went on to attend Kirkwood Community College. James had four children in his first marriage to Emma Kellerhals. On May 3, 1996, he was united in marriage to Barb Kaut. James worked as a machinist at Wilson, Farmstead and PMX, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed bowling, golf and fishing trips to Canada. James was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs.
James is survived by his wife, Barb Driscoll of Cedar Rapids. Also left to cherish his memory are his children, Michael (Rita) Driscoll of Cedar Rapids, Sally (Daryl) Kaeha of Waianae, Hawaii, Mark Driscoll of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Jennifer (Brian) Powers of Palo; grandchildren, Melissa (Joel) Prochaska, Julia Griffith, Kekoa Kaeha, Kainoa Kaeha, Benjamin Powers, Andrew Powers and DJ (Lucy) Kaeha; great-grandchild, Leland Evenson; brothers, Danny Driscoll and Francis (Janet) Driscoll; sisters, Rosemary (Ross) Sexton, Regina (George) Schrieber, Patricia (Juergen) Knoop, Carol (Leonard) Moore, Marcy (Tom) Budreau and Lorna (Mike) Fletcher; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Agnes Driscoll; daughter, Susan Driscoll; sister, Margaret Heick; and nieces, Tammy Salm and Jaime Sheeder.
