James "Jim" Eric Drenkhahn, 80, of Hiawatha, passed away June 30, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
Jim was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Raymond and Eileen (Reinking) Drenkhahn. He retired from Cedar Rapids Dodge as a car salesman in 1997.
For many years, Jim loved going up to his second home in Guttenberg for boating and fishing. He was always the life of the party. He loved to spend time outdoors planting flowers around the yard. He also loved selling cars and working with all his co-workers and customers.
He is survived by his children, Kathy (Mike) O'Connell of Cedar Rapids and Jay (Jyl) Drenkhahn of Marion; granddaughter, Delaney Drenkhahn of Marion; his sister, Joan (Lyle) Hanson of Midland, Mich.; cousin, Dick (Ginny) Mohr, who was like a brother; and his best friend and companion, his dog, Toby.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Drenkhahn, who passed in 1975; and his son, Kenny, who passed in 1982.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
