James William Clegg, 83, of Washington, Iowa, formerly of Chicago, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington. Celebration of Life services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin at noon Friday, Sept. 12, at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth.

Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley M. Clegg of Washington; son, retired Col. James David Clegg of Washington state and Gilbert, Ariz.; son, John Harold "Jack" Clegg of New Orleans, La.; daughter, Jill Carrie Crohan and Floyd Lyster of Waldron, Ind.; daughter, Julie Ann Clegg Lancaster and husband Joseph B. Lancaster III of Grapevine, Texas; son, M Sgt. Jay Robert Clegg and wife Tauna Mantha Clegg of Freeman, S.D.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Helen Clegg of Fresno, Calif.; and nephews, nieces and grand-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Lawrence "Larry" Clegg.
