James Russell Austin, 94, of Williamsburg, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at First Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg with the Rev. Dan Jessop and the Rev. Danny Capon officiating. Burial will be in York Cemetery in Williamsburg with military honors. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at the church. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
James is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, Richard (Marilyn) Austin and Roy Austin of Williamsburg; a sister, Lois Durr of Williamsburg; three grandchildren, Buck Austin, Brenna (Danny) Capon and Allison Austin; and four great-grandchildren, Evie Capon, Lily Capon, Austin Capon and Ava Hernandez.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
