James Albaugh, 78, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at his home in Bella Vista, Ark. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Pastor Matt Collins will officiate at the service.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley of Bella Vista; his three children, Sharon (Jon) Stenzel, Dubuque, Steve (Amy) Albaugh, West Des Moines, and Linda (Dave) Kuhn, Clive; four stepchildren, Scott (Virginia) Ver Steegh, Eddyville, Kenny (Kelly) Ver Steegh, Bettendorf, Trisha (Jerry) Wagner, Ottumwa, and Kelly (Kim) Ver Steegh, Ottumwa; five grandchildren, Austin and Alex Albaugh, Laura Stenzel, Brandon and Bryce Kuhn; five stepgrandchildren, Jordanne Ver Steegh, Austin Ver Steegh, Courtney, Colby and Kyleigh Wagner; and his twin sister, JoAnne Hollett, Cedar Rapids, and her family, Kim (Ernie) Kurth, Lacey and Laura, Tim (Shelby) Hollett, Nathan, Sean and Skylar and Jim Hollett.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
James Richard Albaugh was born Jan. 8, 1936, in Alcester, S.D., the son of Ralph E. and Laura Jane Olson Albaugh. Jim graduated from the Mechanics-ville High School in 1954. He attended Iowa State University for a year. Jim continued his education at professional photography schools in California.
He went to work at Tyler Studios in Newton, Iowa. Jim returned to Anamosa and took over his father's photography studio in the early 1960s. Jim married Marilyn Frank on April 28, 1962. The couple had three children. He operated Albaugh Pho-tography Studio in Anamosa. Jim married Shirley Fisk Ver Steegh on July 1, 1984, in Iowa City. Jim sold his business in Anamosa and retired in 1990. Jim and Shirley moved to Bella Vista, Ark., where they have lived the past 24 years. He operated Wallpaper by Jim while in Bella Vista.
Jim was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and had become a Razorback fan as well. Jim and Shirley ushered at Razorback football and basketball games for 15 years. He loved to do woodworking and care for his dog, Abby.
