7/21/1948 - 9/6/2018
James A. Curran, 70, a longtime resident of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018. He was an electrical engineer at Rockwell Collins as well as a skilled pilot and flight instructor, a sailor, a drummer, a motorcyclist and a physics enthusiast.
He is survived by Christopher Curran, Mary Russell Curran and the extended Russell family. He was preceded in death by his son, Jamison Curran, in 1999. Despite Jim's pain at this loss, he valued connections with the friends and family who loved him.
It was Jim's decision to end his life, and we wish him peace and release.
