Jaeger, Bonnie Jean
Bonnie Jean Jaeger, 79, died peacefully Friday, April 5, 2013, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Cedar Memorial Certified Celebrant Julie Freese will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Bonnie was born March 9, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, to Lester Leo Jones and Faye Lillian (Wilkenson). She was the middle child of five children. She met the love of her life, Donald Jaeger, and they were married in Benton County on July 23, 1953, and lived in Cedar Rapids.
Bonnie loved children and in addition to caring for her own children spent her life as a day care provider out of her home in northwest Cedar Rapids. An avid reader, Bonnie was at her happiest curled up with a novel at her home in Toddville.
Bonnie is survived by two children, Janice (Alan) Weyland of Toddville and David (Char) Jaeger of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Brad (Jodi) Jones of Mason City; four grandchildren, Blake Anderson, Colt (Jen) Poppe, Spencer and Gabrielle Weyland; and three great-grandchildren, Landen, Carter and Tate.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don; parents, Lester and Faye; brothers, Bruce and Lester; and a sister, Janet.
