Jacquelyn Marie Eby (Schott), 61, of Hiawatha, formerly of St. Louis, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018. The family will honor Jackie's wishes by having a celebration of life at a later time. A private burial with military honors will be held at
a later time.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Glen Eby; children, Lisa Eby, Tammy Hahn, Becky (Shane) Olson, Jason Schulte, Robert Eby and Aaron (Diane) Eby; one brother; four sisters; her mother, Ruth Schott; 10 grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Schott and four brothers.
Jackie was born Dec. 21, 1956, in St Louis, Mo. In October 1983, she married Ronald G. Eby in San Diego, Calif. Jackie served in the Marines for 10 years, then worked for the Hays County, Texas, Sheriff's Office, followed by U.S. Security in Cedar Rapids. Jackie was a devoted caretaker and mother. She enjoyed traveling, scratch tickets, casinos, card games and shopping. She adored her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jackie had a special place in her heart for her grandson, Preston, her "sunshine."
Jackie will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
The family would like to thank everyone at the Iowa VA and Hospice of Mercy for their care.
