Jacqueline M. Smith Taylor, 89, of Marion, entered her heavenly home on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at First Baptist Church in Marion. Funeral service: 2 p.m. Monday at the church by the Rev. Dr. Jerry Springston. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion.
Survivors include her son, Lynn Smith; her daughter, Tracy (Roger) Halstead; daughter, Sandy Taylor Brown; son, Greg Taylor; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Dr. Kenneth (Nancy) Tompkins; and her puppy, Dexter.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Dale Smith Jr. and Vernon L. Taylor.
Jackie was born March 21, 1928, the daughter of Lawrence and Rose (Card) Tompkins, in Painted Post, N.Y. She graduated from high school in Bath, N.Y. Jackie worked at Northwestern Bell until her retirement. Jackie was a member of First Baptist Church in Marion for over 50 years.
