Jacqueline K. Schneekloth, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at West Ridge Care Center. Memorial services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity-St. James United Methodist Church. The Rev. Carol Sundberg will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include three sons, Michael (Mary) of Cedar Rapids, Timothy (Sandy) of Marion and Jeffrey (Sonya) of Cedar Rapids; her two sisters, Gayle Griffin and Joyce (Jerry) Roshek, all of Altoona; and one brother, Edward (Linda) Gross of Norman, Ill. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Thomas (Samantha), Hannah, Meghan, Alison, Skyler and Riley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; and an infant son, John.
Jacqueline was born Sept. 29, 1934, the daughter of Kenneth and Helen Sherwood Gross. She received her bachelor degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa in 1988. Jacqueline was a member of Trinity-St. James United Methodist Church, PEO Chapter L.I., and taught swimming lessons during the summer for the Cedar Rapids school system. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and the time spent with her beloved family and many friends. Jacqueline was a very faith-filled person. She had an incredible relationship with God and it was exemplified in her family and her daily life.
Memorial donations may be directed to Trinity-St. James United Methodist Church or a scholarship at Kennedy High School.
