Jacqueline J. Paeth, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, March 30, 2017, at her home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; a son, Peter (Sandra) of Pleasantville; three daughters, Ruth (Jon) Mohning and Dawn Paeth, both of West Des Moines, and Tanda Paeth of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Kim (Dixie) Shearer of Elkader; and three grandchildren, Ashley, Katelynn and Noah.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kirk Shearer; and a sister and brother-in-law, Linda Kay and Roger Jones.
Jacqueline was born Dec. 26, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Joseph and Evelyn Greer Shearer. She graduated from Coe College and later married William H. Paeth on Aug. 16, 1958, in Cedar Rapids.
Jacqueline was a merchandiser at K-Mart West and retired from there after more than 25 years of service.
She enjoyed square dancing with Bill, watching and feeding the birds, and traveling out west. One personal goal she accomplished was to spend a couple of days visiting every county in Iowa.
Jacqueline was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to Camp Courageous.
The family would like to thank Dr. Boyles and Dr. Ghosh for the wonderful care given to Jacqueline.
