Jacqueline (Jackie) Ann Boddicker-Hilmer, 66, died Aug. 3, 2018, at the UIHC from organ failure while awaiting a kidney/liver transplant.
Jackie was born on July 15, 1952, in Vinton, to Virgil and Nancy (Burkhart) Boddicker. She was a 1970 graduate of Washington High School in Vinton. She served her country in the U.S. Army from 1972 through 1978. Jackie worked at several hospitals and the VA until her first liver transplant in January 1995, which forced her early retirement from nursing.
On July 13, 1999, she was united in marriage to Marshall Hilmer in Shellsburg. She cherished her children and grandchildren. Jackie has cut the ribbons to this world; her pain and suffering are no more. She's in the loving arms of her mother.
Jackie is survived by Marshall; her children, Crystal (Nick) Stefani of Avon, Ind., and Jeremiah Graves of Cedar Rapids; three stepchildren, Selena (Mark) Bahr of Dysart, Bill (Cailan) Hilmer of Roseville, Minn., and Abby (Paige) Hilmer of Urbandale; six grandchildren, Mariah, Micah, Molly, Jacob, Alexandra and Jaxon; four stepgrandchildren, Jacob, Lane, Vincent and Zach; three brothers, Steven, Donald (Renee) Boddicker of Vinton and David (Diane) Boddicker of Antioch, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is assisting the family.
