Jacqueline Hootman, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Jan. 25, 2019. She was born April 18, 1935, in Van Horne, Iowa, to Richard and Nova (Meyer) Dannels.
Jacquie had a love of children, not only her own and her grandkids, but also those she worked with at the preschool. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and arts and crafts. She loved spending time with the family during the holidays and baking cookies with the grandkids. She did an excellent job of teaching the boys how to cook, so they could take care of making the pies and pastries.
Jacquie is survived by her son, Richard Chris Hootman; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary; and sons, Gary and Howard.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with a service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
