Jackson, Lila I.

Lila I. Jackson, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Oct. 11, 2012, at Living Center West. A gathering and luncheon to celebrate Lila's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Cedar Memorial Park Family Center and Library. Private inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.

Surviving are her children, Stephen Jackson and wife Cathy of Cedar Rapids and Tamara Engledow and husband Peter of Mount Vernon; her son-in-law, Arthur “Joe” Steinke; her grandchildren, Spencer L. Jackson and wife Amy, Seth L. Jackson, Jason Engledow, Ryan Engledow, Greg Cleveland and wife Bonnie and Curt Cleveland and wife Krystyn; and her great-grandchildren, Crystal, Hannah, Matthew Emma, Kaitlyn, Jillian, Reese and Slayter Jackson, Maleea and Jackson Engledow and Kim, Kyle and Kurt Cleveland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; her daughter, Julie A. Steinke; and her siblings, Armand and Coral.

Lila Ione Jackson was born Jan. 7, 1923, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Charles D. and Veronica L. (Siechert) Fuller. She was united in marriage to Sterling “Jack” L. Jackson on Feb. 8, 1941, in Lancaster, Mo.

Lila enjoyed crafts and working with children at Fillmore Elementary School for many years. Above all, her greatest enjoyment was her family who will greatly miss her.
