Jack Meinders, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. A private graveside service will take place. An open house in celebration of Jack's life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Discovery Living located at 1015 Old Marion Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Jack is survived by his adopted family at Discovery Living and To The Rescue.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leonard.
Jack was born May 5, 1925, to William and Leona (Clarkson) Meinders in Waterloo, Iowa. He was an active member and volunteer of Westminster Presbyterian Church and also volunteered often at Prairie Woods and Witwer Senior Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Westminster Presbyterian Church or Discovery Living in Jack's memory.
