Jack Edwin Lowe, 84, of Amana, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at Colonial Manor, Amana, following a long illness. Private family services. Burial: Hala Cemetery, Walford. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Cowboy Church, Walford. Attendees are asked to practice social distancing. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, funeral attendance is limited to family only. Friends are invited to attend the service via Facebook at: www.facebook.com/diane.earp.1. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Jack is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pat; his daughters, Jo Lowe of Wapello, Erin Lowe of Cedar Rapids and Tammi (Dale) Martinson of Center Point.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy, Bernard, Don and Bert; and his sisters, Louise Young, Doris Crossett, Jean Yates, Vernalda Yahn, Eva Thayer and Ilene Ansley.
Jack was born Nov. 2, 1936, in Sigourney, the son of Thomas and Sophia Duensing Lowe. He served in the Army from 1958 to 1964. Jack married Patricia Mangum in Ottawa, Kan., on Sept. 19, 1965. He began working at Rockwell in 1963 as an electronic lab technician, retiring in 2000. Jack also farmed the family homestead and raised livestock.
Jack enjoyed metal detecting, reading, hunting, raising bees and making homemade maple syrup. He loved nature and had a gift for finding lost treasures. Jack will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
