J. William "Bill" Jilovec, 81, of Mechanicsville, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022.
Bill was born March 6, 1941, to Joseph and Mildred Jilovec on the family farm outside Mount Vernon. After graduation from MVHS in 1959, Bill worked construction for friend Skip Bernet and farmed for family and friends, prior to purchasing his own farm in 1972.
He met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Fancher, in 1963 at Danceland. They married March 20, 1965, celebrating over 50 years together.
Bill is survived by his children, Brett (Laurie) Jilovec, Brenda (DJ McAtee) Jilovec from his marriage to Barbara, both of Mechanicsville, and Tina (Stephen) Laneback of Gilbert, Ariz., and Lisa (Jim) Wright of Hereford, Ariz.; grandchildren, Katrina Jilovec, Joe Jilovec, Molly Brimeyer, Lauren (Chris) Marshall, Sara Laneback, Jennifer (Ryan) Wade, Kathryn Wright and Curtis (Jasmine) Wright; along with six great-grandchildren and siblings Kay (Bob) Lind, Karen Martin, Don (Carol) Jilovec, Bob (Maryanne) Jilovec, Andrea Jilovec, Denise (Mac) McAfee and Steve (Julie) Jilovec.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, his parents, oldest sons David and Jeff Jilovec and siblings Keith Jilovec and Eva Murphy.
Bill and Barb will be together for eternity in Rosehill Cemetery.
