J. PATRICK RILEY

J. Patrick Riley of Naples, Fla., formerly of Marion, died of cancer Aug. 31, 2015.
Pat was born March 11, 1928, in Ottumwa, Iowa. He graduated from St. Ambrose College and the University of Iowa College of Law. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. Pat married Theresa Malone on June 11, 1955, in Iowa City.
Pat spent his career as a lawyer at Collins Radio, later Rockwell International, in Cedar Rapids, retiring in 1991 as assistant general counsel.
Pat will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Theresa (Malone) Riley; four children, the Rev. Leo Riley, Ann (John) Nesbit, Des Moines, Michael (Marlene), New York, N.Y., and Chris (Mary), Yuma, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; as well as his sisters, Martha Kelley of Los Angeles, Calif., and Margaret Schmich of Milwaukee, Wis.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Katherine, and his sister, Mary Kay Pence.
A memorial Mass is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 4, at 1:30 p.m. at his parish, St. William Catholic Church, Naples, Fla., with interment following at Moorings Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, 4597 Warren Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
