Ivan D. Smith, 91, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Shoal Creek Rehabilitation Center in Crestview, Fla., with his family by his side.
Ivan was born Aug. 19, 1924, in Fairfax, Iowa, son of Fred and Gladys (Primrose) Smith. They preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Geraldine Holland Smith; three sons, Ret. Col. Jack Smith (Vickie) of Cheyenne, Wyo., Bruce (Darlene) Smith of Boonville, Mo., and Steven Smith of Mossy Head, Fla.; a brother, Charles of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Mildred Jimerson of Baker, Fla.; four grandsons; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Ivan was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice and Shoal Creek Rehabilitation Center, both of Crestview, for their loving care.
